| Rotary is a worldwide organization of business and
professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages
high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build goodwill and
peace in the world. There are approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belonging
to more than 32,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical
areas world wide. The RTP Rotary Club had a long standing charity race that was a major event in the Research Triangle Park all through the 80’s and into the early 90’s. The race was just brought back in 2004, and was an instance hit. Now running for the third year, the RTP Rotary Club is trying to make an event were local employees of the park and families can come celebrate an afternoon of fun. The charity event is put on and directed by the RTP Rotary Club, and sponsorship is raised through local companies and event participation. There is a 5k for the more serious athlete, then the 1 Mile for the rest of the family to participate. There will be fun-flatables to help entertain any children.
